Who We Are

Friends of Little Manzanita Bay is a IRS-approved 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire, support and assist neighbors of Little Manzanita Bay, residents of Bainbridge Island, and the general public, in the conservation and preservation of the natural values and habitat of Little Manzanita Bay.

We are shoreline homeowners, neighbors, and Island residents. Some of us live on Little Manzanita Bay; some of us live in the neighborhood; others of us use the two public road ends on either side of the Bay.  We love Little Manzanita Bay for its tranquility, natural beauty, family-friendly waters, and as a haven for human-powered recreation.

Because Little Manzanita Bay is shallow and quiet, we bring our families and our binoculars; we swim, paddle-board and kayak all around the bay and up Little Manzanita Creek, a magical place that is home to spawning salmon.

We have come together to preserve these human and natural values for our families, our neighbors, Bainbridge Island residents and future generations.

Our goal

We are building an active community that promotes the health of Little Manzanita Bay. Together, we can ensure that the people and wildlife that call it home or visit from time-to-time, can enjoy the beauty of this little environmental treasure, and flourish in a healthy balance of the environment and human activity.  The Friends of Little Manzanita Bay enables those interested to align around a shared vision for Little Manzanita Bay, and work towards actively bringing this vision to life. We hope you will consider supporting our efforts and community.

Current areas of focus and concern include but are not limited to:

-Fish and wildlife restoration

-Upland invasive species

-Run-off of contaminants into Little Manzanita Bay and Little Manzanita Creek
